Davangere University is a state university which was established in the year 2009, and is among the youngest affiliate’s types of university in Karnataka. The university was set up with a purpose and vision to meet the educational aspirations of the people in the region. Both UG and PG courses are provided in the university for interested candidates. The university is recognized by AICTE and UGC, and it is spread over 73 acres of land space. Around 55 colleges are affiliated to the university. Department of Studies in Business Administration (IMS) in Davangere University was established in the year 1992 with 28 students which have now grown into a full-fledged Institute with an intake of 120 students. The Institute has been offering M.B.A. Programme with specializations in Financial Management, Marketing Management & Human Resource Management with the objective of meeting the ever-increasing demand for management education.

Courses Offered at IMS

B. Voc.

Course Duration: 3 Years

Eligibility: Candidates are eligible to apply for Bachelor of Vocation (B.Voc.) course if they have successfully completed Class XII / PUC from a recognised board with minimum 50% marks.

MBA

Course Duration: 2 Years

Eligibility: Candidates must have passed graduation in any discipline or equivalent from a recognised university as a basic eligibility criteria for MBA (full-time) with minimum 50% marks.

Ph. D.

Course Duration: 3 to 5 Years

Eligibility: Candidates Holding a full-time Bachelor’s degree is must and have secured their Master’s degree (MSc/ MTech/ MPhil/ MA/ MBA) by pursuing from a government recognized university.

D. Litt.

Course Duration: 1 Year

Eligibility: Candidates have to clear PhD with minimum 50% marks from a recognized college or institute. The admission process for D.Litt is through an entrance exam taken by university.

Admissions to MBA Course offered in the university are done on the basis of candidate’s merit or through entrance exam. However, the university offers most admission through university entrance exam and merit of previous course degree.

Health Care Concerns

The health centre in the University is headed by a Visiting Medical Officer assisted by a full time nurse at Shivagangotri Campus. COVID-19 norms also followed. Social Distance is maintained.
